My 200th post!

As a way to celebrate this momentous occasion, I thought I'd actually do a give-away.  In the interest of promoting beautiful people, the give-away is for something beautiful.  As many of you know, my sister makes handcrafted, one-of-a-kind jewellery.   So the give-away is anything either from her site Beauty by the Bead, or something custom-made from Beauty by the Bead, with a value of $30 max.

Here are the rules:

1.  For one entry, leave me a comment on what you think is beautiful.  This could be a sunset, a dress from a favourite designer, a child, a painting, a poem; whatever makes you smile and feel great.

2.  For a second entry, become a follower.

3.  This is open to everyone.

4.  One name will be picked out of my very fashionable red hat by my hubby.

5.  The give-away is open until Friday, January 22, 2010.  The name will be drawn on Saturday morning.

Have a great day!

  1. What I find beautiful... a SMILE. A genuine smile makes me smile.

    I am a follower Sandy.

PS... And I love you and Barry. Barry, can you please pick my name from that red hat?

  2. First off, congratulations on your 200th post, and your sister's shop is lovely.

Now, I can't just name one thing. I thought I could, but I was wrong. I think the most beautiful things in existence are:

    - relationships
    - communication
    - respect

The communication that takes place within relationships, as well as the respect that life has for life, will never cease to amaze me. Never ever. It not only makes me smile, but it fills my heart and causes leaky eyes.

You can consider me a follower, too. ^_^ Thanks for the sweet things you said over at my blog.

  3. Hi, Sandy!

Congratulations on your 200th post. That is something to be very proud of.

I've missed you the last few days. My 14 year old stepdaughter has been staying with us and she completely monopolizes the computer. Very frustrating!

How nice to have a sister who makes such beautiful jewelry. I saw a lot of things I really liked on her website.

Hmmm...Pick just one thing that I find beautiful...so many things to choose from. I would have to say that I think my daughter is beautiful. She is my only child and I find beauty in every new phase of her life, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

And I am already a follower, so toss my name in that hat two times. Barry...it's up to you now, buddy!

  4. Yay for your 200th post honey! And to think in the beginning you had little interest in even doing this blogging thing. Heh heh!

M'kay, I'm not entering as I generally don't look good in necklaces or earrings. But I thought I'd chime in as I have some ideas.

So what do I find beautiful? I can think of many things...

-You. No one in my life has had a greater influence on me, or seen your heart as I have. And I love what I see.
    -my amazing, beautiful blogging friends
    -confidence
    -passion
    -love
    -poetry
    -music
    -art
    -women
    -sunrise/ sunsets
    -eyes
    -gladiator shoes :)
    -sexually comfortable people
    -selflessness
    -laughter
    -compassion

I could go on but you get the idea.

And for those of you encouraging me to pull your name out of the hat, well, I love you but you're on your own here I'm afraid! ♥

  5. Great idea! Congrats on your milestone:)))

The other day I was walking into the mall when a woman with 2 young children walked right by me. She was on the phone and seemed very preoccupied with what I am sure were very important things. Her daughter, however, decided to just cartwheel in front of her... yep... she was just cartwheeling down the mall. I thought of how I would never think of doing that and it was sad. But it was beautiful... really really beautiful. :) What innocence!

  6. Congrats on your 200th post!! I am looking forward to the next 200. :)

This is a wonderful giveaway. Your sis makes the most gorgeous jewelry so this giveaway is a real treat!!

I find a lot of things beautiful but one thing that really trumps them all is simply KINDNESS. In this world, it is so easy to disregard other people. We text without talking face to face. We cut people off on the highway because all we see is a machine, not a person. We ignore those standing in line with us at the grocery store. But in this world, the most simple acts of kindness really stick out to me and show me true beauty. Opening a door for someone, smiling at a complete stranger, stopping at a fender bender to see if your assistance is needed, etc. We are all people and to remember that is truly beautiful.

  7. I don't know where I've been lately that I didn't enter your giveaway!! hehe. I would love to enter. I think the world is beaitful, its just that people need to take the moment to soak it in. The sunset the other night was so gorgeous with its purples & pinks.

I'm a follower too. hehe. I just took a look at your sister's site. She does make beautiful jewelry. Good luck with the giveaway!! =)
